Wayne Moriarty
Raconteur
"Crafts stories like he cooks -- using what's at hand, combines simple ingredients in unexpected ways. While there's no set recipe, his tales often include generous amounts of wit, splashes of unconventional observation, hints of nostalgia and the occasional sprinkle of tug-at-your-heartstrings sentimentality. Yummy. It might not be a five-course meal, but the results are surprisingly satisfying and memorable."
About Me
Raconteur - yes, that's a fancy word for storyteller. But it's really the best word to describe what I do. Look it up.

And no, I don't speak French, though I did grow up in Montreal. These days, I call Vancouver home.

I worked in journalism for 36 years (1981-2017). Sixteen of those years I was editor-in-chief of a major daily newspaper (The Province, 2003-2016 and The Windsor Star, 2000-2003). From 2016-2017 I wrote a column for The Province - have a look.

In 2018 I started a little company, through which I occasionally take on special projects. These days, you can mostly find me engaged in activities that amuse and delight me.
